Southwestern Poblacion celebrates the 30th Araw ng Southwestern Poblacion

January is the celebration of Araw ng Southwestern Poblacion.  It is celebrated with a Sinulog Festival, Coronation of Ginang Sinulog 2012, tree planting around the Barangay Hall held last January 11, 2012.  The theme of this year’s celebration “USA KA TUGTOG, USA KA SAYAW, USA KA PANGLANTAW”

The celebration was very colorful and spirited because of the Sinulog Festival held in the morning and it highlights the festivity.

Southwestern Poblacion Barangay Captain and ABC President Hon. Ezel T. Villanueva spearheaded the preparation of the celebration together with SWP Council.

The 30th commemoration of Araw ng Southwestern Poblacion gives way to housewives and mothers to show their beauty through search of Ginang Sinulog 2012. 3 young and pretty moms competed for the title Ginang Sinulog 2012. The search is also an opportunity for pretty moms the chance to boost their self-worth and improvement.  The Coronation Night held last January 15, 2012 at 8 o’clock in the evening.

Ms. Nishel M. Bongcawel of Purok 2 won the title of Ginang Sinulog 2012 though glass dance. The proceeds from the pageant are intended for the beautification of Senior Santo Niño Chapel at Southwestern Poblacion.

Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva, Jr. MNSA and Federated ACB Hon. Aurora Virginia M. Almonte crowned the Ginang Sinulog 2012.

Hon. Aurora Virginia M. Almonte was the guest of honor. In her speech she revealed that Barangay Southwestern received P 500,000.00 and the money was used in purchasing the Solar Street Lights.

Municipal Officials headed by Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva, Jr. MNSA, Municipal Vice Mayor Jesus C. Enerio, Sangguniang Bayan Members Hon. Judelyn E. Bolotaolo, Hon Betty M. Iman, Hon. Marjorie Sarreal and Hon. Jorge B. Quiza graced the occasion.
   
Young and young at hearts enjoyed the free disco sponsored by the SWP Council right after the coronation.
