2012 Alay Lakad/Alay Linis

“2012 Alay Lakad/Alay Linis of the Municipality of Calamba, Misamis Occidental”
Every September the Local Government Unit of Calamba, Misamis Occidental held its annual Alay Lakad. The Office of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)in cooperation with different Government and Private Agencies and Schools, Non-Government Organization and other participating sectors organized the Annual Alay Lakad/Alay Linis last September 7, 2012 to support the Municipal’s out-of-school-youths.
The activity started with a Hataw at the Municipal Quadrangle. A more than 20 minutesdance exercise and participated by all those joined the Alay Lakad/Alay Linis.

The Alay Lakad/Alay Linisactivity was held in support for those youths who can no longer attend school because of their financial status and at the same time this year’s activity include cleaning-up the areas along the Poblacion Areas. It’s been two years that the Alay LakadCommittee combined the Alay Lakad and Alay Linis to make the activity more important especially to the community rather than the usual walk for a cause.
The yearly fund-raising campaign will be used for the educational assistance, livelihood training and skills training for the less fortunate youths the out-of-school-youths.
Thousands of participants came from Private and Public Colleges, High Schools and Elementary Schools, Non-Government Organization, Government personnel from the National and Provincial Offices and as well as the Municipal Employees headed by Municipal Vice Mayor Jesus C. Enerio and the Sanggunian Bayan Members.
Participants are then required to contribute a certain amount. This year’s Alay Lakadcontributions are as follows for the Chief of Executive and Legislative P 150.00, Municipal Vice Mayor and Sangguniang Bayan Members and Department Heads P 75.00, for the rank and file employees P 30.00; casual employees P 10.00, and P 1.00 for the students. . The funds raised are used to finance for the needy out-of-school youth.
