“CALAMBA COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS

FESTIVAL 2009”

The Municipality of Calamba, Misamis Occidental held the Calamba Community Christmas Festival 2009 last December 23, 2009, 7 o’clock in the evening at Mateo Matunog Gymnasium. This year’s theme: “PAGHIGUGMA, PAKIG-ANGAY, PAG-INAMBITAY, MATUOD NGA DIWA SA PASKO” The Christmas Festival is a yearly event every December. The occasion is a gift of the Local Government Unit of Calamba to the Calambahanons for them to feel the spirit of Christmas through different presentations. 

Despite of the bad weather, people from all walks-of-life gathered to the Municipal Gymnasium to witness the yearly Christmas Festival.

Colorful fireworks display formally opened the event. Hundreds of visitors crowded around the Municipal Quadrangle to view the fireworks display. Most of the people especially children were amazed of the almost 10 minutes fireworks display. Only twice a year the constituents can view such colorful lights in the sky.

After the fireworks display the visitors, guests proceed to the gymnasium for the proper program.

Private and government employees; staffs, teachers and students from different private and government schools; religious sectors and other participating groups through their dances and songs presentation contributed to the success of the festival.

A fantastic songs and dance presentations with colorful costumes from the different sectors in order to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. The show entertained hundreds of people.  

Municipal officials spearheaded by Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva, Jr. MNSA graced the occasion.

Ten (10) gorgeous and sexy women presented to the audience. They are the candidates for the upcoming search of Lakambini ng Calamba 2010. The search will be on February 13, 2010 during the celebration of Araw ng Calamba.  

Giving gifts through raffle draws add excitements to the audience, so most of the audience watched to the very last presentation.
