“2010 Lakambini ng Calamba highlights the 62nd Araw ng Calamba”

 

The Search for Lakambini ng Calamba 2010 highlights the celebration of the 62nd Araw ng Calamba. The Local Government Unit of Calamba, Misamis Occidental held the Search for Lakambini ng Calamba last February 13, 2010, 7 o’clock in the evening at Mateo Matunog Gymnasium. 

 

Ten (10) beautiful, gorgeous and talented women compete for the Lakambini ng Calamba that showcase their very best.

Candidate No. 1 –  Miss SHIELA MAE P. CATANE is 17 years old and a first year college student.  

Candidate No. 2 – Miss LEEH ANN O. MAMAC is 17 years old and a resident of Southwestern Poblacion, Calamba, Misamis Occidental. Leeh Ann is a first year college student.

Candidate No. 3 – Miss HANNAH M. CANENCIA is 15 years old. Han as everyone calls her is a third year high school of Calamba National Comprehensive High School. 

Candidate No. 4 – Miss JOANALEA C. PIOCO aged 15 years old and a fourth year high school student. Ging-ging wants to finish her studies and to fulfill her aspirations in life.

 

Candidate No. 5  Miss TASHA GIANNE KARLA A. INTONG is   a    third year high school student of Calamba National Comprehensive High School. Tasha is 15 years old and wants to become a successful flight attendant.

 

Candidate No. 6 – Miss REINNA JOY Q. CABILADAS affectionately called as Joy is 16 years old. Her dream is to become a professional nurse and to reach her goals in life.

 

Candidate No. 7 – Miss JAMAICA J. INTONG is 18 years old and the oldest among the candidates. Maiea everybody calls her wants to become a model.  

 

Candidate No. 8 – Miss JOANESE P. GUMOP-AS is 16 years old and a first year college student and a resident of Barangay Southwestern Poblacion.  

 

Candidate No. 9 – Miss EZEL E. PONCE of Barangay Mamalad is 15 years old and a fourth year high school student.

 

Candidate No.10 – Miss AISEL C. ALBIOS is also from Barangay     Mamalad and a sister of 2008 Lakambini ng Calamba candidate. She is a third year high school student.

The Lakambini ng Calamba highlights the different aspects of the Calambahanon’s women: the beauty, intelligence and talents.  The organizers of this year beauty pageant strive to provide the contestants the opportunity to grow and achieve their dreams to become a beauty queen. The pageant boasts the self confidents of the contestants. The organizers provide the make-ups, shoes, casual wear and gown of the contestants.

Throughout the semi-finals, the contestants competed in three categories: talent, casual wear, swimwear, evening gown and interviews.

The contestants were so competitive during the talent and coronation nights.

The talent night held last February 10, 2010 at Mateo Matunog Gymnasium. Contestant No. 6 Miss. Reinna Joy Q. Cabiladas won the title Ms. Talent.

Ms. Reinna Joy Q. Cabiladas won the Best in Talent. She impressed the judges with her energetic dance and song performances of Shakira’s song.

The swimsuit competition is the most exciting aspect of every beauty pageants. During the Swimsuit Competition the candidates amaze the audience with their sexy figures in their unique style and colorful swimwear attire. But Miss Joanalea C. Pioco stands out as the best in swimwear.

In the evening gown competition the ladies displayed their stunning looks in their exquisite long gowns that really fit their sexy and almost perfect bodies. But Miss Joanalea C. Pioco emerged as the best in evening gown. She looks gorgeous of her red gown with elegant necklace that match her gown.

Tensions build when the candidates face the judges in the much awaited question and answer portion. Throughout the on-stage interview, most of the contestants feel nervous, but in spite of what they feel they still look stunning and confident.

During the semi-finals there were 10 candidates then only five candidates were chosen to compete for the title Lakambini ng Calamba 2010. They were judge according to beauty and how they answered the preliminary interviews.

After choosing the five finalists, the contestants again undergo another on-stage interview but the candidates answered the same question. Finally, it’s a test of impulsiveness.

The special awardees were the following: Miss Jamaica J. Intong voted as Miss Congeniality by her co-candidates; Miss Professionalism goes to Miss Joanalea C. Piocoand and she was also awarded as Best in Ethnic-Inspired Attire; Miss Hannah M. Canencia awarded as Best in Casual Wear; Miss Photogenic goes to Miss Shiela Mae P. Catane; Miss Miss Joanalea C. Pioco Best in Production Number; Miss Ezel E. Ponce awarded as Ms. Flawless because of her flawless and smooth skin.

After an accurate selection procedures of the judges, the outstanding lady who showed the best of herself, with captivating smile and good posture, handled the interview well, Ms. JOANALEA C. PIOCO emerge from the 10 aspiring candidates to win the 2010 Lakambini ng Calamba. Ms. Pioco fascinates the audience with her smile and charming look. The way she walk on stage and how she handled the interviews made her the audience’s favorite.

The 1st runner-up was Ms. REINNA JOY Q. CABILADAS, who had also won the Ms. Talent held last February 10, 2010.

Ms. HANNAH M. CANENCIA the fourth runner-up

The Search for Lakambini ng Calamba 2010 surely an entertaining and impressive event that adds excite to the celebration of the 62nd Araw ng Calamba.
