About Calamba

Calamba is the strategic point of trade and commerce of the five municipalities of Misamis Occidental comprising of: Plaridel, Lopez Jaena, Baliangao, Sapang Dalaga and Concepcion...As a predominantly agricultural area, the community has much to offer. It has an abundant supply of coconut as the main product. The existing cash crops, root crops, vegetables and other production are not limited in a backyard scale, giving priority response to the economic condition of the farmers and its family. With the increase of farm production, it can supply the whole province's domestic needs.  Its surplus will either be used as raw materials for other by-products and can supply throughout the province and the region as a whole.

The on-going reforestation activities of the denuded areas are expected to produce trees of commercial value. The municipality also has large deposits of sand and gravel for infrastructure support. With these resources, the municipality will actively contribute to the socio-economic upliftment of the life of the people, hand-in-hand with the private sectors/organizations.
