Flag Raising Ceremony and Interfaith
On February 08, 2024 the Flag Raising and Interfaith thanksgiving Service during the 76th Araw ng Calamba, Misamis Occidental. The Municipality of Calamba, Misamis Occidental celebrates the 76th Araw ng Calamba with the theme “Ang Nagkahiusang Calambahanon Magpuyong Malinawon. Malambuon ug Malipayon”. The Flag and Banner Raising Ceremony is officially opened the 76th Araw ng Calamba. Municpal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva Jr., MNSA. Municipal vice Mayor Hon. Antonio Lawas. Sangguniang Members, Barangay Captains and Officias of the 19 Barangay. Spearheaded by association of Barangay Captain (ABC) President Hon. Ken Allen B. Lawas, National and Municipal Employees grace the occasion. After the singing of the Philippines National Anthem, the 19 Barangay Captain raised their respective Barangay Banner together with Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva Jr., MNSA and Municipal vice Mayor Hon. Antonio Lawas initiating the Banner Raising.
After the Flag Raising Ceremony the guest and visitors proceed to Municipal gymnasium to Interfaith Thanksgiving Service led by the different Religious ministers from the different churches in Calamba offered prayer for the Community, Family, Youth, Subanen Community, Health, Education to the Local Government Unit of Calamba the Nation and the successful celebration of the 76th Araw ng Calamba.
After the Interfaith Service they have also Subanen Tribes to celebrate the 76th Araw ng Calamba. Thanksgiving ritual system of the Subanen, an indigenous people in the Calamba headed by Gunotan Ending with their members.
This year Araw ng Calamba offers days of activities from February 08 to February 14, 2024. The celebration showcased Educator Night, Barangay Day, Employees Night, Sport Day of (LGu, ABC, CDH, CMCODA, Business Sector National Agencies) , Karatedo Friendship Game, Tennis Commercial, Dog Show, Evas’ Apple Disco for a Cause, Battle of the Band, Culmination Day Parade, Drum Corp Exhibition, Mob Dance Competition and Live Band.
