“Educator’s Night during the 61st Araw ng Calamba celebration of the Municipality of Calamba, Misamis Occidental”
February 9, 2009 at 7 o’clock in the evening, teachers from elementary, high school and college gathered together to celebrate their night the Educator’s Night. The Department of Education in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Calamba, Misamis Occidental held the Educator’s Night to formally open the 61st Araw ng Calamba.
Before the proper program started, the DepEd provide a spectacular fireworks display at the Municipal Quadrangle that provide the guests a spectacular and unique entertainment. Then after the fireworks display all the guests, performers and students proceed to the gymnasium. At around 7:30 in the evening the Mateo Matunog Gymnasium filled with dance fanatics and performers and the gymnasium ground was changed into a dance floor. Hundreds of viewers from all walks of life flocked to the gymnasium to witness the extraordinary occasion.
The show begins with a mass dance of all the guests including Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva, Jr., MNSA, teachers from public and private elementary, high school and college.
Students and dance enthusiasts s gathered together to watch the much awaited Educator’s Night that features their teachers in a dance floor.
After a few minutes the Philippine Independent Church (PIC) Teachers occupied the dance floor with their modern dance. They are the first performer and then followed by teachers from Misamis Computer College (MCC).
The third performers were mentors from the Calamba Central School that proved their dancing skills with a hip hop dance.
The fourth performers’ teachers from the Calamba National Comprehensive High School amazed the crowd with their own dance version of the hit song “Dangerous by Akon” an then followed by the fifth performers from Southwestern Poblacion and Singalat Elementary School teachers.
The sixth performers were students and teachers from College of Communication, Information and Technology (CCIT).
The teachers from the Liberation Institute (LI) performed a combined folk and modern dance.
The audience and the teachers were surprised when two male teachers do the lip-sings of a 70’s hit songs with female teachers as their back-up dancers. They were teachers from Bunawan, Calaran, Langub and Magcamiguing.
With their fabulous costumes including their hats and graceful dance steps the teachers from Sulipat, Bonifacio, Mamalad, Salvador and San Isidro.
On the second to the last part of the show, the teachers from the Sacred Heart School satisfied the viewers with their modern dance. They were the most popular performer of the night. The gymnasium echoed with cheers from the students of the Sacred Heart College High School Department.
The teachers from Libertad, Siloy, Dapacan Alto and Dapacan Bajo were the last performers. They look so pretty with their outfit.
Teachers are not only good in mentoring the students to be of their best and mold them to be a good Calambahanons but indeed they are blessed with un-measurable dancing talents.
The Educator’s Night was successful through the efforts of all the teachers in the Municipality of Calamba. Educator’s Night is the night of talents of all the teachers.
