Vice President Jejomar C. Binay meets  Calamba, Misamis Occidental Municipal Officials an its constituents

The Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines Honorable Jejomar C. Binay, made a short visit to Calamba, Misamis Occidental en way to his official trip to the Province of Misamis Occidental.

The Calambahanon were happy and excited when Vice President Jejomar C. Binay visits the municipality last Friday February 28, 2014 at Calamba Public Market at 4 o’clock in the afternoon.

The Municipal Market was filled with people from all walks of life who were patiently waiting for the arrival of Vice President Binay. 

Municipal Mayor Ezel T. Villanueva, along with Vice Mayor Jesus C. Enerio and members of the Sangguniang Bayan and the Municipal Employees, welcomed Vice President Binay and his delegation.

Bus passengers and drivers from adjacent bus terminal and tricycle drivers stopped to take a glimpse of VP Binay.

Vice President Binay wave and shook hands to market vendors, children, senior citizens and town locals patiently waiting for a photo opportunity with him.  

Municipal Mayor Villanueva and Municipal Vice Mayor Enerio accompanied Vice President Binay towards the entrance of the Public Market where he made his speech and greeted the constituents. 

On behalf of all the constituents of Calamba, Municipal Mayor Villanueva in her speech welcomes Vice President Binay.

VP Binay in his speech greets all the Calambahanon and said Calamba is the twin town of Makati. In addition, he said that Makati City offers scholarship to those interested and qualified Calambahanon who want to study College in Makati City. 

Municipal employees prepared his requested native foods like banana cue, etc. 

Moreover, VP Binay went to the towns of Sapang Dalaga, Baliangao and other municipalities of Misamis Occidental to meet the officials and the community as part of his activities during his visit in the Province. 

The Municipality of Calamba is not new in welcoming National Government Officials. A few years ago former Mayor and former President Hon. Joseph E. Estrada visited Calamba attending the wedding as Principal Sponsor on Municipal Mayor Ezel T. Villanueva and former Mayor Luisito B. Villanueva’s wedding. Former Senators namely Ricardo J. Romulo, Ernesto M. Maceda, Ramon Revilla, Sr., Manuel "Lito" M. Lapid, Nikki Coseteng also visited Calamba. Last National and Local Election 2013, former Senator Juan Miguel F. Zubiri has also visited the town campaigning again as Senatorial Candidates. 

After Calamba, Vice President Binay and his delegation proceed to Oroquieta City where he met his fraternity brothers.
