The Pista sa Calamba. Municipalities often organize various events and festivities to celebrate important occasions, cultural traditions, or local heritage. These celebrations can vary greatly depending on the location and the specific customs and traditions of the community.

During a municipal fiesta, you might expect to find a range of activities and attractions such as parades, music performances, dances, cultural exhibitions, local food and drink stalls, games, and fireworks. The purpose of these events is to bring the community together, showcase local culture and traditions, and provide entertainment for residents and visitors. Filipino fiesta usually has religious relevance in celebration of their Town patron Saint’s feast day. They come together in thanksgiving for the past year’s bountiful harvests and blessing. While there are also times when the past year’s gathering was not so good and they ask their patron saint for a better yield for the coming year.

Fiesta is also a special time with friends, reunions, fellowships, alumni’s, unification of every family member, lots of activities.

Last May 13-23 2023, our Municipality of Calamba celebrating the fiesta. Theirs are more activities during the fiesta, Willfreedo is a reggae fusion band in Dumaguete City, 1^st Mayor’s Cup Drag Racing Competition, brought to us by Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villaneuva Jr. MNSA, Mob Dance Contest by schools, Fiesta Live Band with the local band in Calamba, CNCHS SPA RECITAL with the CNCHS Students and Basketball Semi Finals and Finals an Inter Barangay Basketball Cup. They are always colorful and lively packed with entertaining sight with a lot of friendly smiles for every to enjoy. The town usually has a week-long celebration with daily events and happenings which ends with a grand culminating activity on the main daily itself.

National Women’s Month 2023

National Women’s month culmination March 28, 2023, healed at Municipal Gymnasium with the special guest Vice Governor Rowena “Wheng” Guierrez, Board member Donna Iyog in Municipal of Calamba Headed by our very active Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva Jr., MNSA, Municipal Administrator Engr. Ezel T. Villanueva, Municipal Vice Mayor Antonio Lawas together the Sanguniang Bayan member and women leaders with the theme” WE FOR GENDER EQUALITY INCLUSIVE SOCIETY”. The event started with a short walk parade with their different queen floats in downtown Calamba. After the parade, a special thanksgiving mass was commenced, led by Pastor Jaim of UCCP Calamba, to thank the Almighty Father for giving the women the skills, talents, and wisdom to participate productively contribute in civic movements and progress in society. The program proper immediately started after the mass. Political and government leaders acknowledged the importance of women in the field of public service. WE stand for Women and Everyone emphasizing the role of women themselves and everyone in the pursuit of gender equality. We also stand for Women’s Empowerment, which can only be achieved when agencies, mechanism, institutions, private partners, and duty-bearer from the local level provide women equal rights and opportunities, and women take these opportunities to further themselves. With women and everyone in synergy, We can make gender equality a possibility. Gender Equality is the first half of GEWE advocacy, and it is ultimate goal when we advance the rights of women. Inclusive society this is a call not only for a gender responsive society but an inclusive one.
