Southwestern Poblacion celebrates the 30th Araw ng Southwestern Poblacion
January is the celebration of Araw ng Southwestern Poblacion. It is celebrated with a Sinulog Festival, Coronation of Ginang Sinulog 2012, tree planting around the Barangay Hall held last January 11, 2012. The theme of this year’s celebration “USA KA TUGTOG, USA KA SAYAW, USA KA PANGLANTAW”

Pit Senior! Pet Senior! Pet Senior! People shouted during the Sinulog Festival held last January 15, 2012. There are two sets of Sinulog, the first one is in the morning after the second mass sponsored by the San Isidro Parish Church and the second one is in the afternoon sponsored by Barangay Southwestern Poblacion and part of the 30th celebration of Araw ng Southwestern Poblacion, Calamba, Misamis Occidental.

The LGU of Calamba, Misamis Occidental leads the 115th Rizal Day Celebration
When Filipino people talked of heroes, Dr. Jose Rizal comes first to mind. The Local Government Unit of Calamba, Misamis Occidental led the commemoration of the 115th death anniversary of National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal with the theme “RIZALISMO: SANDIGAN NG KAUNLARAN, PAGKAKAISA AT KAPAYAPAAN”.
The LGU of Calamba, Misamis Occidental joined the simultaneous nationwide flag raising ceremony and flower offering at Rizal Monument and the most anticipated occasion. Rizal Day is observed every 30th of December in honoring the bravery of our National Hero for sacrificing his life for the welfare and freedom of his countrymen and the country.
